Journalism

I entered college with the intention to major in journalism because I love writing and I believe that it’s important that people get a chance to tell their story. I joined the Wright Times, the student news publication of Wilbur Wright College, in August 2024 as a staff reporter. I became a copy editor in 2025 and since May 2025 I am the Editor in Chief.

I  have written 43 stories and counting. I am in charge of assigning stories, editing all articles, leading our staff organizing workflow, promoting the Wright Times, and managing our website and social media. I won an ICCJA first place award in the News Story Category for a story I wrote on Wright’s cannabis studies program. In addition to my Wright Times articles I also wrote freelance articles for class projects.

I also started my own independent journalism project Northwest Chicago Street Fest in 2023.
