I entered college with the intention to pursue journalism because I love writing and I believe that it’s important that people get a chance to tell their story. I joined the Wright Times, the student news publication of Wilbur Wright College, in August 2024 as a staff reporter. I became a copy editor in 2025 and from May 2025 to May 2026 I was the Editor in Chief, in charge of assigning stories, editing all articles, leading our staff, organizing workflow, promoting the Wright Times, and managing our website and social media.

I wrote 43 stories with the Wright Times in addition to taking photographs. I won an ICCJA first place award in the News Story Category for a story I wrote on Wright’s cannabis studies program. In addition to my Wright Times articles, I also wrote freelance articles for class projects.
